Hiram Franco Astorga
I am an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Oceanology at the Faculty of Marine Sciences at the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC). I have always been interested in activities related to the ocean, which was one of my main motivations for choosing this field of study.
Some of my hobbies include swimming, surfing, and exploring natural environments. During the summer, I also work as a lifeguard with the Ensenada Fire Department, an activity that allows me to stay closely connected to coastal and marine environments.
Currently, I work with Dr. Luis Malpica-Cruz and Dr. José Sandoval-Gil on my undergraduate thesis project. My research focuses on evaluating a tool called the Kelpod, which is designed to contribute to the development of restoration strategies for kelp forests.
